Fabric as the starting point
A bespoke dinner jacket where symbolism, craftsmanship and context converge
For a special occasion, we were commissioned to create a bespoke jacket that goes beyond mere aesthetics. The wearer will don this garment during an official visit by H.M. King Willem-Alexander 🇳🇱, and requested a design that is at once personal, representative, and symbolic.
Fabric as the Starting Point
The fabric is an exclusive design by Dutch designer Aziz Bekkaoui. Bekkaoui is renowned for his layered, culturally resonant designs in which identity, elegance, and social commentary converge. This particular fabric carries that signature: a visually powerful statement, with enough subtlety to allow for refined bespoke tailoring.

Design: Formality with Character
The chosen shape is a double-breasted 2x1 dinner jacket with an elegant shawl collar — a silhouette that radiates formality, yet leaves space for individual expression. The jacket was designed as a subtle, modern interpretation of evening wear, perfectly suited to both the occasion and the fabric.
The sleeve is finished with two spaced buttons in a rich dark brown. The buttons feature a refined red grain, a stylistic accent that gently echoes the tones within the fabric.
Bespoke as Dialogue
This project brings together everything bespoke tailoring means to us: a dialogue between person, context, design, and craftsmanship. The fabric by Aziz Bekkaoui served as the starting point, but the final design emerged through close collaboration with the client. Every choice — from lapel to button — is deliberate and meaningful.
No jacket is ever just a jacket. Certainly not when worn during a Royal visit, carrying a story that is both literally and figuratively woven into the fabric.
